About the Speaker.
Ben Doane is lead merchandiser, barge freight for CHS Global Grain and Processing, overseeing barge freight trading, sourcing, and execution. His role involves managing market risk, conducting business with barge carriers, and coordinating barge capacity at CHS river terminals.
Doane joined CHS in 2006 as procurement merchandiser at the Savage, MN terminal. He has also worked as merchandiser of corn and soybeans and moved to barge freight trading in 2010, where he has helped the organization grow on both the northbound and southbound sides of the business.
Ben is a native of Minnesota and earned bachelor’s degrees in economics and marketing at the University of St. Thomas, St. Paul, MN. He is a member of the National Grain and Feed Association’s Waterborne Commerce Committee and an executive member of the Upper Mississippi Waterways Association.
