The Northern Crops Institute (NCI) recently held the ninth installment of the Market Update Webinar Series on Wednesday, February 17th, 2021. These Market Updates continue to serve as one of the innovative ways NCI fulfills its mission. These Market Updates were created to engage with past course participants, and offer market insights to those professionals.  By providing pertinent information to past course participants NCI fosters growth and learning globally.

During the hour-long market update, participants were able to listen in and gain new insights on economic outlooks and global markets. Tanner Ehmke, who manages a research team that provides market and industry outlooks on sectors affecting the rural economy, including grains, oilseeds, biofuels and farm supply; animal protein; dairy production and processing; specialty crops; and power, energy and water, offered unique insight into today’s economic setting. His expertise gave participants relevant information and fostered questions and discussions. Here is what Tanner had to say about the Market Update:

“I think we had great audience participation as we covered a lot of important issues from COVID-19, to the economy, to agricultural commodity markets. Given the volatility in today’s markets, it was a very timely and worthwhile event.”

By hosting market updates and continuing to provide new information, these webinars have and will support the mission to expand and maintain domestic and international markets for northern grown crops. NCI looks forward to hosting more market updates and connecting with past course participants in the future.
