Responsibilities:
As Food Technologist, Deepa’s responsibilities include:
Conducts laboratory analyses on northern-grown crops including grains, oilseeds, pulse crops, and processed food products.
Participates in demonstrations and training for international trade teams and short course participants.
Assists with pilot-scale processing and product development projects, including baking, pasta processing, extrusion, milling, and other applications.
Education:
M.Sc. in Cereal Science – North Dakota State University, Fargo, ND
B.Sc. in Agriculture – Institute of Agriculture and Animal Science, Tribhuvan University, Nepal
Experience:
Deepa is a food science researcher and agricultural educator with over five years of expertise in grain processing, milling, baking, and analytical techniques such as protein, starch, and dietary fiber analysis. As an agriculture instructor, she developed and delivered curricula on cereal production, vegetable farming, and Integrated Pest Management (IPM), blending theoretical and practical learning.
