Program Overview.

This program is divided into two (2) parts. As an participant, you can attend part 1, part 2 or both. The mission of this program is to prepare current grain elevator employees to transition to managerial roles.

Part 1: Merchandising to Leadership.

This course will provide an overview of grain merchandising as it applies to grain elevator management.

Objectives

  • Understand the cash and futures markets

  • Learn merchandising strategies

  • Hear from industry professionals about their experiences in grain trading

  • Learn about transportation and logistics of grain handling and shipping

Who Should Attend

This course will be available for current grain elevator staff looking to expand their skill-set in a managerial area, in this case specifically in grain merchandising.

Should you request to cancel your registration prior to the registration deadline, NCI will provide a refund, less a 10% processing charge. Cancellation requests received after the registration deadline will not be eligible for a refund.

If NCI is forced to cancel this course due to insufficient number of participants, dangerous weather or other circumstances, we will immediately notify all registrants and provide a full refund within 10 business days.

Substitutions for registered participants are allowed if NCI is notified three days prior to the start of the course.

For your course fee, you will also receive access to a Google drive containing materials from lectures and laboratory demonstrations. Refreshments during scheduled breaks and lunches are included, along with one evening dinner banquet. Hotel rooms and other meals ARE NOT included.

To pay by check, fill out this form. Mail the form with your check to Northern Crops Institute (address below). Checks must be payable to Northern Crops Institute and drawn on a United States bank.

NOTE: Enroll early as course space is limited. All courses are contingent upon sufficient enrollment numbers. Do not make travel reservations until NCI confirms that the course will be offered.
