Northern Crops Institute Hires Jena Bjertness for Program Manager

The Northern Crops Institute (NCI) recently hired Jena Bjertness for program manager. In her new role, Jena will use her background in animal science to provide organization and leadership in the development of educational programs to promote northern grown crops to global grain buyers and food processors.

“I came to NCI to transfer the skills I have learned in research to adult education,” Jena said. “I hope to use these education opportunities to better the agriculture industry in our four state area [Minnesota, Montana, North Dakota, and South Dakota].”

Jena is originally from Vermillion, Minnesota and has an M.S. in Animal Science with a focus in ruminant nutrition. She grew up active in Minnesota 4-H, showing hogs at the county and state fairs. In her free time, Jena enjoys spending time with her family, gardening and volunteering in her small town community of Kindred, ND.
