NCI Seed to Feed Series | Part One
With the complex commodity supply chain of today’s world, streamlining the process is key in increasing profitability for farmers and feed producers. “Seed to Feed” is a project by Genesis Feed Technologies to explore the challenges and opportunities of commodity supply chains and provide a platform for innovative solutions.

The Northern Crops Institute (NCI) is one of nine industry and technology partners working in collaboration on this project. As the campaign draws closer to its conclusion, NCI will be featuring a four-part Seed to Feed video and blog series every Wednesday that highlights some of NCI’s involvements in the partnership.
This week kicks of Part One of the series. Watch the video below as NCI Director Mark Jirik introduces Peter Schott, Genesis Feed Technologies cofounder and tells the story of how the two entities became connected. They discuss the importance of making these types of connections, especially in the agriculture realm.
The NCI’s mission is to promote crops grown in the northern region of Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Montana and expand domestic and international markets. This mission is in check with the work of Genesis Feed Technologies, where they work with over 17 countries around the world to help ingredient buyers make decisions based on nutritional quality and ultimately drive more exports of U.S. commodities overseas.
Stay tuned for Part Two of NCI’s Seed to Feed series coming next Wednesday. Peter and Mark take a more in-depth look at the supply chain and how this campaign will educate people on what’s happening and what kind of work is being done in this area.
