NCI Video Production | October Update
We left off in last month’s video production update with a busy week of events, which brought many hours of post-production work to the schedule for this month. Read on to learn about the video editing process from the Next 5 Years Executive Conference, and more!
MN Wheat Marketing Seminar:
In case you missed last month’s update, it included an overview of the live recording process during MN Wheat’s annual fall wheat marketing seminar, streamed from the NCI auditorium. Check it out here:

The three presentation videos from the three presenters were completed in record time. This process includes three pieces: video of presenter, powerpoint presentation record, and an audio feed from the presenter. These three elements, once synchronized together, make up a complete video.
There are also many behind-the-scenes elements as well. Every title, logo, and text animation that appears on screen is built in another program. These little pieces are layered on the video editing track. How many elements can you spot?
The completed videos are featured on MN Wheat’s YouTube Channel here:

NCI looks forward to working with MN Wheat again soon for their Prairie Grains Conference December 7-8, 2022!
Next 5 Years Conference:
The Next 5 Years Conference took place on September 12, 2022. To learn more about the event, visit the website link here: https://next5years.com/
Similar to where the blog left off with the MN Wheat Seminar, the Next 5 Years Conference also occurred and left several hours of post-production work for this month. NCI’s video crew has the process down to an art, with the post-production job being similar to the previously mentioned work for MN Wheat.
A unique aspect of this video work is that the 2022 Next 5 Years Conference will be moving to a virtual platform via NCI’s course page. You heard it first in the video blog! Stay tuned for more information on how you can access the content soon.
In the meantime, watch a recap video of the Next 5 Years Conference featured below. Mark Jirik (NCI), Howard Olson (AgCountry FCS), and Steve Olson (Steve Olson Consulting) talk about the planning of the event, the highlights of the day, and the impact this conference had for those in attendance.
NCI Course Video:
Having the Next 5 Years Conference and MN Wheat Marketing Seminar in the same week still does not stop NCI’s coursework. During this same week where the blog left off last month, NCI’s longest running course, Grain Procurement, kicked off for the fall of 2022 edition.
During this time, NCI’s video crew was busy at work filming the entire course with demonstrations and presentations. The hope is to convert Grain Procurement to an online format and offer it virtually in the future. Stay tuned for more updates on that as well.

Finally, the last event to highlight from this month in terms of video work was the Soy Nutrition Workshop as the tour passed through NCI. This workshop was brought to fruition through the Soyfoods Council and funded by the North Dakota Soybean Council. Dieticians, influencers, and culinary students from North Dakota State College of Science were present.

The blog features a recap video with Shireen Alemadi of NDSC and Linda Funk of the Soyfoods Council. Check out their insight from the event!
