Course Overview:
Join the Northern Crops Institute (NCI) for our in-person Graduate Student Feed Milling course. The course will be focused on participants gaining a better understanding of the feed milling industry, milling processes, and feed quality and safety standards. We will spend time in both the classroom setting and working hands on with feed processing equipment at the NCI Feed Mill.
Objectives:
Understand full fat soy extrusion and uses
Understand feed mill management and operations
Understand feed safety and quality standards
Understand feed ingredient sourcing and particle size reduction
Understand feed mixing
Understand feed pelleting
Who Should Attend?
This course will be put on for graduate students of NDSU, SDSU, U of M, and Montana State University. Animal Science faculty from the respective universities are also welcome to attend.
