NCI's First Hybrid Course of 2021 | Grain Industry Emerging Leader Program: Management vs. Leadership
The Northern Crops Institute (NCI) held its first hybrid course, Grain Industry Emerging Leader Program: Management vs. Leadership, from June 29th to July 1st. 21 participants from surrounding grain elevator businesses attended both in person and online to learn management vs. leadership strategies as they apply to grain elevator management.
This three-day course covered a range of topics and provided participants with lectures and case studies. Topics included: understanding financial statements and how they interact with their business, human resource and team management strategies, thinking about a long term strategic plan for their business, and more.
Participants heard from industry professional speakers to understand first-hand knowledge of these topics with presentations such as retaining good employees, income statements and balance sheets, and mergers and acquisitions.
Nicholas Sinner, Program Manager at NCI commented on the advantages of taking courses like this one stating, “You’re going to get a lot of great (and) usable information that will help you and your business on a day to day basis.”
NCI welcomed participants back in person for the first time this year and utilized technology for the first hybrid course which allowed participants to attend either in person or online.
