NCI Market Update Webinar Series: Weather Edition | Featuring Daryl Ritchison
The Northern Crops Institute (NCI) held its recent installment in the Market Update on July 7th, 2021. This episode was a special Weather Edition featuring Daryl Ritchison, the Director of North Dakota Agricultural Weather Network (NDAWN).
During the webinar, Daryl discussed a variety of topics including ocean temperature anomalies, the South American freeze, and the current wheat situation in Ukraine and Russia. He also went more in depth on the United States and different topics including precipitation and temperature predictions, moisture levels, and how the corn, soybean, and spring wheat crops may be affected by these forecasts. Daryl discussed many of his own personal predictions for the weather and outcome of crops this year, and he highlighted this key statement:
“At the moment I don’t foresee many changes to the overall pattern in the next month for the major ag producing areas of the United States.”
These market updates were created to engage with past and present course participants, and to offer market insight to those professionals. By providing this pertinent information on various topics, NCI has fostered growth and learning all around the world. NCI greatly appreciates contributions from speakers like Daryl Ritchison during these Market Update webinars.
