Utilization of Hemp in the Food Marketplace
The Utilization of Hemp in the Food Marketplace course took place virtually yesterday. The first of its kind webinar for The Northern Crops Institute (NCI) presented participants with a variety of information on the growing place of hemp in the food industry.
This webinar provided attendees opportunities to learn from industry experts and gain a better perspective on how hemp can be utilized in the food marketplace. NCI Course Director, Nick Sinner said:
“We brought in those first purchasers who create markets for hemp producers. Our mission is to develop markets for crops produced in this region. With this course we met that goal.”.
During the webinar, presentations were given by a host of industry professionals on topics in the hemp sphere. A wide range of presenters spoke about regulations, testing, hemp history, health benefits, functionality, market trends, and processing throughout the day. This gave participants a well-rounded experience and showed the value hemp offers to the food industry. Designed as a course that would inform participants about the industry as a whole and simultaneously provide an in depth look at pieces of hemp, this course accomplished the goal.
Furthermore, when asked what made the Utilization of Hemp in the Food Industry course unique, Sinner also said:
“We included a market analyst that gave a good review of the food industry, including growing hemp use as an ingredient. Stephanie Mattucci presented an analysis of those companies and talked about how those trends are changing favorably over time.”.
In short, the Utilization of Hemp in the Food Marketplace course provided participants with valuable information about the industry. This webinar also offered unique insights on the growing use and trajectory of hemp throughout the region.
